Baku-APA. The meeting was held with Ucha Nanuashvili, Director of Georgian Human Rights Center in Azerbaijani Ombudsman’s Office, Press Service of Ombudsman’s Office told APA.
Safikhanli, Chief Department of Ombudsman’s Office provided information about measures taken for protection of human rights and cooperation established with international organizations, state bodies and civil society in this direction. The meeting focused on measures taken according to bilateral contract signed between Azerbaijani and Georgian Ombudsman.
Nanuashvili stated that protection of children and women’s rights, combating human trafficking were one of the priorities of their organization. Nanuashvili underlined that steps were taken to establish Network of South Caucasus Human Rights Defenders by the support of European Union and noted that the network would ensure rights and security of human rights defenders, as well as provide information exchange in this field.
