Cabinet of Ministers passes decision to restore 7 apartments of building blasted in Nasimi district

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers passed a decision on restoration of seven apartments in the 4th block of the five-storey building blasted in Javad khan Street, 30, Nasimi district, the district executive office told APA.

After the blast occurred in the building the district’s Commission of Emergency Situations submitted the documents on restoration of five apartments (apartments #56, 57, 58, 59, 60) in the 4th block of the building to the Cabinet of Ministers. But the Cabinet of Ministers also added apartments #54 and 55 to the list. According to the decision, the flats will be rented for the residents of those apartments, funds will be allocated for this purpose.

Though the amount of the damage is not publicized, the decision of the Cabinet envisages compensations to the residents.

Gas leak caused blast in apartment #60 of the five-storey building in Javad Khan Street, 30 of Nasimi district in Baku on January 16. 5 were killed and 10 injured in the aftermath of the blast.

Baku Prosecutor’s Office launched criminal case on the fact on Article 314.2 (negligence, causing serious results) of the Criminal Code.

Resident of Shirvan Aliyev Orkhan Rahim, 20, who was renting apartment #60 in the building, was arrested by Nasimi district police on January 17. The blast reportedly occurred through his fault. Criminal case was launched on Article 124.2 (murdering two or more persons on imprudence) and Article 187.3 (destruction or damage of property on imprudence) of the Criminal Code.
