Judge: “Additional measures will be taken to bring Gamat Suleymanov to the court”

The trial was presided over by Islam Neymanov. A petition was raised for separating the case of accused Yashar Maharramov from the ongoing case. The court didn’t accept the petition. Dean of the Baku State University Master’s Program on Geogrpahy Shakar Mammadova gave a testimony as a witness. She said she knew Rovshan Abdulaliyev and Elshan Mammadov, who were her students.
Then judge Islam Neymanov said that leader of the Narimanov District beliveres community Haji Gamat Suleymanov and his assistant Alikhan Musayev were called to the court as the witnesses, but they didn’t attend the hearing. The judge said additional measures would be taken to bring them to the court.
Videotape of preliminary testimony of Kamran Asadov, Bakhtiyar Orujov and Farid Jabbarov, who were detained as a result of operation held by the Ministry of National Security, was demonstrated.
Asadov told investigators that he felt necessity to use weapons for Allah during his military service and decided to attack the US embassy at first.
Orujov also acknowledged that he participated in the weapons theft and their goal was to attack the US embassy.
He said he hided the weapons in Ismayilli after that Asadov and Jabbarov were detained.
The trial was fixed on January 29.
Kamran Asadov, Bakhtiyar Orujov, Farid Jabbarov, Elshan Mammadov, Kamran Babayev, Samir Mehbaliyev, Terlan Karimov, Edgar Aliyev, Ramil Karimov, Shirvani Babayev, Samir Aliyev, Yashar Maharramov, Orkhan Alizadeh, Hajibala Huseynov, Azer Ibadov, Shahriyar Maharramov, Ramin Jalilov, Rovshan Abdulaliyev, Ilkin Ismayilov and Vugar Aliyev are accused of setting up a radical religious group, attempting to start military struggle, attacking on LUKoil petrol station in Baku, preparing terror attack on the U.S. and UK embassies in Azerbaijan.
