Former Chief and Deputy Chief of Gobustan jail to give testimony in the trial of members of radical religious grouping

Representative of CE Office in Azerbaijan attended the trial presided over by Islam Neymanov. Convicted side presented CD covering interrogation of defendants during preliminary investigation.
Haji Murad Osmanov, grandfather of defendant Edgar Aliyev was freed to give testimony legally.
Shakir Asadov, father of Kamran Asadov first wanted to give testimony. Kamran protested his testimony saying that it will be against him. Afterwards, Shakir refused to give testimony using his right.
Then Ilham Hasanov, owner of the house rented by accused Kamram Babayev, and Rovshan Niyazov, chief of the penitentiaryâ€™s security unit, gave testimony as witnesses. Niyazov said he knew accused Ilkin Ismayilov, but never met Kamran Asadov. â€œI was appointed to that post newly. A man, called himself as a cousin of prisoner Anar Nurlu, visited him at the penitentiary. Then I realized that he was Kamran Asadovâ€.
The witness said nearly 100 mobile phones have been found near the prisoners since his appointment to the post.
The judge said investigators found out that Ismayilov used just one of those phones to contact Kamran Asadov.
The court decided to invite Alizada Huseynov, being a chief of the jail in that period and his assistant Shahkishi Bagirov as a witness.
The process will be continued in the afternoon.
Kamran Asadov, Bakhtiyar Orujov, Farid Jabbarov, Elshan Mammadov, Kamran Babayev, Samir Mehbaliyev, Terlan Karimov, Edgar Aliyev, Ramil Karimov, Shirvani Babayev, Samir Aliyev, Yalchin Maharramov, Orkhan ALizadeh, Hajibala Huseynov, Azer Ibadov, Shahriyar Mehraliyev, Ramin Jalilov, Rovshan Abdulaliyev, Ilkin Ismayilov and Vugar Aliyev are accused of setting up a radical religious group, attempting to start military struggle, attacking on LUKoil petrol station in Baku, preparing terror attack on the U.S. and UK embassies in Azerbaijan.
