Khabarovsk –APA. Khabarovsk District Court of Russia issued its first verdict on murder case on a nationalist basis. Residents of the city Alexander Shemelin and Dmitriy Paponov, who killed Azerbaijani taxi driver Rasim Yahya Shahverdiyev last March, were sentenced for 14 years of imprisonment. The sentenced persons denied accusation that they killed the driver on a nationalist basis. According to the court materials it was a planned murder. Shemelin was arrested at site, but Paponov arrested a month later. The detainees acknowledged that they hate Caucasians and decided to “clean up” the city from the Caucasians.
Nationalist and fascist literature was found in the Shemelin’s house. Shemelin and Paponov said they committed murder in drink and they were going to appeal the court’s decision.
