Baku. Hafiz Heydarov-APA. Court hearing on Azerbaijani Interior Minister Ramil Usubov’s claim raised against Human Rights Defender Leyla Yunus has today been held in Nasimi Court, Lawyer of Human Rights Defender Isakhan Ashurov told APA.
The court hearing has been presided over by Shahin Abdullayev. The court partially considered the petition of Leyla Yunus and passed decision on consideration of case by Yasamal Court. Ashurov said that case would be submitted to Yasamal Court soon and the date of next court hearing would be determined.
Interior Minister Ramil Usubov’s claim raised against Human Rights Defender Leyla Yunus covers the fact that Yunus slandered Interior Ministry during her interview to www.day.az website on December 3, 2008. Usubov stated that the interview caused danger to police power. He demanded refutation, apology to the Ministry and payment of fine worth AZN 100.000 from Yunus.
