The woman said she was at home together with her children when the military operation began.
“My husband is being treated in another country. He had not been at home for six months. I witnessed this tragedy in Gaza together with my children. Our bank accounts were frozen after HAMAS movement came into power. That’s why we can not get salary, food, fruit and other necessary things,” she said.

Sabina Shanaa said there still were Azerbaijanis in Gaza Strip.
“I know three Azeri women living there – Dinara, Saadat and Naila. Saadat has three children, and she is pregnant. She did not want to leave Gaza Strip, because her husband is not Azerbaijani citizen. The women do not want to leave their husbands,” she said.
Sabina Shanaa remembers the terrible war:
“There was no gas, electricity or water. We were obliged to hide on the ground floor, in order to escape bombing. Neither my children, nor I can forget that scene. On the first day of the operations, Israeli planes bombed the school where my children were studying. My daughter was under the ruins and when she was rescued she saw many people stained with own blood, their corpses without legs and arms and even decapitated. She fainted and was taken to the hospital, which was also bombed by the Israeli warplanes later. I couldn’t leave the home and run to school to bring my children home”.

Sabina Shanaa said officers of the emergency ministries of Russia and Ukraine helped her to leave Gaza Strip. “I thanked Russian Consul Eugeniy Nikolayevich, Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt and specially Consul Vugar Yusifov for their irreplaceable assistance. He helped us to leave Egypt for Azerbaijan. I wanted to go to Astrakhan because my brother and sister are living there, but they sent me to Azerbaijan, to my homeland, but I have no relatives here. I have to stay at home of unfamiliar people. I don’t know what will happen further. The important thing is that we could leave Gaza safe”. Sabina Shanaa said she had no intentions to return to Gaza. She didn’t desire to publish her and children’s photos for some reasons.
