Human Rights Defenders to visit Strasbourg

Baku. Ramil Mammadli-APA. Azerbaijani Human Rights Defenders will visit Strasbourg to attend PACE winter session and conduct discussions on protection of human rights, Human Rights Defender Arzu Abdullayeva told APA.
The delegation includes Novella Jafaroglu, Saida Gojamanli, Seadet Benenyarli and Arzu Abdullayeva. They will stress the importance of releasing imprisoned journalists and ill prisoners. PACE Committees will debate election situation and municipal reforms in Azerbaijan.
â€œPACE relevant Committees will discuss political prisoner issue in Azerbaijan. Reports on political prisoner Novruzali Mammadov, editor-in-chief of Tolishi sedo newspaper, who was sentenced to ten-year imprisonment, because of high treason, will be submitted to the body as well,â€ she said.
Human Rights Defenders will have meetings in CE Committee on Combating Tortures. Abdullayeva will raise discussions on arrest of Etimad Ismayliov, son of MP Ilyas Ismayilov, Chairman of Justice Party at PACE.
â€œEtimad Ismayilov was undergone moral tortures. His detention condition is worseâ€, she said.
