Aliyev Orkhan Rahim living in apartment #60 of the building has been arrested by Nasimi district police. The blast reportedly occurred through his fault. Nasimi district prosecutor’s office launched criminal case on the fact on Article 124 (murder on imprudence) and Article 187 (destruction or damage of property on imprudence) of the Criminal Code.
First deputy prosecutor of Baku Fazil Hasanaliyev told APA that Orkhan Aliyev was resident of Shirvan town and had been renting apartment in the building.
“Orkhan Aliyev has been detained as a suspect. The blast occurred in the apartment rented by Orkhan and it shows that it happened through his negligence. All the versions are being investigated. the final judgment will be given after the investigation is over,†he said.
Blast occurred in apartment #60 of the five-storey building in Javad Khan Street, 30 of Nasimi district in Baku at 16.00 on January 16. It was proved that gas leak caused the blast. 5 were killed and 10 injured in the aftermath of the blast.
Baku prosecutor’s office launched criminal case on the fact on Article 314.2 (negligence, causing serious results) of the Criminal Code.
