Five people were killed in the blast. Deputy Minister of Emergency Situation Etibar Mirzayev said body of Elnara Murtuzaliyeva, 29 was found last night. The rescue operations were concluded. Mirzayev said 15 people were injured in the blast, one of them died in the hospital and four were discharged from the hospital after receiving the medical aid. 10 people are still in the hospital and four of them are in hard condition.
The deputy minister said only residents of the fourth bloc of the building were evacuated and other residents didn’t need to leave their apartments. He confirmed that the blast occurred as a result of gas leakage and the fact is investigated now.
Nargiz Bahlul Huseynova, Murtuzaliyeva’s 47-year old mother, Tahirov Osman Rustam, 37, Alakbarov Hafiz Nurulla, 50 and Bagirova Fargana Ilyas, 31 were also killed in the blast.
The blast occurred in the residential building at Javad Khan Street, 30 in Nasimi District of Baku on January 16. The criminal case was launched on the article 314.2 (carelessness, causing hard results) of the Criminal Code.
