Sabunchu district police office told APA that it happened in Oktyabr Street in Zabrat settlement. Resident of Yasamal district, Elnur Nusrat Agayev, 27, stole wooden doors worth AZN 200 from his sister’s house. As soon as Sabunchu district police received information, operation was launched to find Agayev. Seeing that the police became aware of the case, Agayev came to his sister’s house and brought the doors. There he poured petrol over himself and burned himself. His relatives tried to save his life, but it was impossible. Agayev died of burns at the spot.
Sabunchu district prosecutor’s office launched criminal case on the fact on article 125 (inciting to suicide) of the Criminal Code, investigation is underway.
