Blasted building torn down in Baku

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov–APA. Blasted five-storeyed building #34 in Street Nakhchivansky, Nizami District is being torn down, Arrahman Hasanov, Deputy Chairman of Nizami Executive Power, Chairman of the Emergency Commission of the district told APA.
“Special construction brigade of the Ministry of Emergency Situations pull down the building at the site at present. Destruction will be ended in a short time. The building will be rebuilt within nine months,” he said.
Hasanov added that next six month-allocation will be delivered to owners to rent temporary houses.
“Three month-allocation have already been given to people to rent houses. The work on preparation of documents on next six month-allocation is under way. After submitting of documents to the Cabinet, they will receive allocations,” he added.
Fire blazed up on 5th floor of five-storeyed building #34 in Street Nakhchivansky, Nizami District on December 13, leaving 3 people dead and 5 injured. According to preliminary investigation that gas leak caused the blast.
According to the decision of the Cabinet, three blocks of the building will be destroyed and rebuilt within nine months. The state allocated AZN 122 500 to owners to rent temporary houses.
Baku Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation under Article 222.2 (Infringement of safety rules on conducting building, mountain or other activities on imprudence brought to death of a victim or other serious consequences) of the Criminal Code.
One was held accountable in connection with the incident.
