â€œEcstasy caseâ€ charged Yalchin Hasanov mentions names of singers Roya, Zamig Huseynov and Tunar

Yalchin Hasanov appealed the court at the process presided by Judge Azer Orujov, who quoted Hasanov as saying that wrong information was published in mass media about the criminal case. â€œIf the situation proceeds in this train further, they will ask to hold the trial behind closed doorsâ€, said the judge and added that the court would review the appeal, if it was necessary. The judge said that two witnesses, who should give evidences, didnâ€™t attended the process and Mirsalamovâ€™s lawyer Narmina Mammadova also missed the session because of death of her relative. She asked the court not to hold hearing in her absence.
Yalchin Hasanovâ€™s address was delivered to the journalists, where he mentioned some issues related to singers Roya, Zamig Huseynov and Tunar. He said that Royaâ€™s mother-in-law called them and denied reports of declining of Royaâ€™s name in the case. He said Roya and her husband Anar Jalilov were his friends. â€œI have had friendly relations with Tunar since 1997, but he disappeared after my arrest. Tunar, who did not leave me for 24 hours, has not visited me in prison. When my number was not available, Zamig did not drive his car as he feared that traffic police would stop him because he was driving without license. Now Zamig became a star with his torn trousers and triangle beard. Where is his manhood?â€ Hasanov said he would make it clear when he would be released.
The process will continue on January 8, 2009.
The defendants are accused of illicit drug turnover and use of drugs. According to the indictment, they faced charges under articles 234.1 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) and 234.4.1 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code. They were arrested by the National Security Ministry in May this year.
