Farewell ceremony with outstanding singer, Peopleâ€™s Artist of USSR Muslum Magomayev ends, the body carried to the Alley of Honor

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva attended the official part of the farewell ceremony. Elchin Afandiyev, Acting Deputy Prime Minister addressed the event and noted that Magomayev was known across the globe. Afandiyev added that he was surprised in the farewell ceremony in Moscow yesterday, because even poorest Russian citizens came to bid farewell with Magomayev.
Firangiz Alizadeh, Chairwoman of Union of Azerbaijani Composers assessed Magomayev as phenomenon and said that Magomayev was an indispensable person.
Film director, Peopleâ€™s Artist Eldar Guliyev stated that it was difficult to part with his close friend Muslum.
Leonid Roshal, Chief of Russian Public Chamber stated that he wanted Magomayev to be buried in Moscow. â€œI could visit him regularlyâ€, he said.
Farhad Badalbayli, Rector of Baku Academy of Music added that they were close friends and it was very difficult to lose the friend.
Special Representative of the Russian President on international cultural cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi made a speech in the event as well.
Farewell ceremony ended under the song of â€œAzerbaijanâ€ of Magomayev and applauses of audience at 15.35. The body was carried from the Philarmony to the Alley of Honor.
Admirers of Muslum visited the Alley of Honor to part with Magomayev.
