Chief of Azerbaijani Committee against Torture appeals to Ramil Usubov

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Chief of Azerbaijani Committee against Torture Elchin Behbudov appealed to Interior Minister Ramil Usubov. The Committee Chief told APA that the appeal was connected with the fact of suicide committed in Lankaran Region Police Office. The Committee Chief asked the minister to investigate whether there was fact of torture in the suicide. The Human Rights Defender expressed his hope that the problem would be seriously investigated by the ministry.
Resident of Lankaran region, Zaur Gulmammadov, 32, detained for illicit drug turnover, hanged himself in the lavatory of Lankaran Region Police Office.
