Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov consents to transfer of Mirza Sakit

Baku. Hafiz Hajiyevâ€“APA. Human Rights Defenders Chingiz Ganizadeh, Elchin Behbudov, Sahib Mammadov, Saida Gojamanli, Novella Jafaroglu and Arzu Abdullayeva have met Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov, Chingiz Ganizadeh told APA.
The meeting aimed to clarify rumours spread in media on imprisoned official of Azadlig newspaper Mirza Sakit. Human Rights Defenders stated that the Ministry had seriously investigated the incident related to Mirza Sakit in detention facility #14.
â€œMammadov noted that measures would be taken on leadership of detention facility, if there was any violation against Mirza Sakitâ€, he said.
Ganizadeh stressed that Mammadov consented to transfer of Mirza Sakit to another detention facility.
â€œThe Minister stated that he would give task for transfer of Sakit to another detention facility and it would be carried out soonâ€, he said.
