Religious books confiscated by State Customs Committee officers given to Jewish communities in Azerbaijan

The religious books confiscated by the officers of State Customs Committee at different times have been given to the Jewish communities in Azerbaijan, the committee told APA. Chief of Khachmaz Customs Office Sahib Akhundov said that the sacred books, icons and other religious things confiscated by customs bodies had been given to the related organizations, as well as religious places. It was also decided to give 100 confiscated religious books destined for Jewish children to the Synagogue in Girmizi settlement in Khachmaz region.
Head of Mountain Jews Religious Community in Girmizi settlement Boris Simanduyev regarded this act as the splendid example of tolerance in Azerbaijan.
150 religious books were given to Azerbaijani representation of European Jews religious community on October 10.
