Criminal expert of Sabayel District Police Office accepts accusations against him

Elchin Behbudov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Anti-Torture Committee, who conducted monitoring in the isolation ward of the Interior Ministry General Office on Combating Organized Crimes, told APA.He said no one in the ward appealed him about the tortures. Behbudov said the criminal expert of the Sabayel District Police Office Ali Akhundov, 49 had been arrested several days before and he was detained in the isolation ward. Akhundov is accused on Article 228.1 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies -except for the smooth-bore hunting weapon and ammunition to it-, explosives) of the Criminal Code. The Human Rights Defender said Akhundov admitted his guilt. The Police found out arms in his cabinet.
