Names of people injured and killed in mosque explosion in Azerbaijan’s capital publicized

APA’s correspondent reports that representatives of Baku and Narimanov district prosecutor’s offices are at the site. Inspector of Baku Prosecutor’s Office Akif Mammadov told journalists that the explosion killed two and injured 11 people. The inspector said one of the injured men was in critical condition, the others feel normal.
The offender has not been identified yet. The inspector said the material evidences had been sent for examination.

12 people injured in the aftermath of the explosion were taken to Clinic Medical Center. The Center told APA that two of them died on the way to the hospital. They are Veliyeddinov Teyyar Nadir aged 22-23 and 55-year-old Vagif Abbasov. Four of the injured were released after receiving medical aid. One was sent to Eye Diseases Research Institute named after Zarifa Aliyeva for eye surgery. 25-year-old Vugar Salahov, whose lungs were injured and 24-year-old Natig Mammadov, whose liver and bowels, were injured underwent surgery.

An unknown man threw two hand grenades into Abu Bekir Mosque, where whabbists gathered for prayer, at about 09.00 pm on August 17. There were about 500 people in the mosque. National Security Minister Eldar Mahmudov and Interior Minister Ramil Usubov visited the site.

Criminal case has been initiated on the fact on Article 120.2.4, 120.2.7 (premeditated murder) and 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation and carrying of fire-arms) of the Criminal Code, no one has been detained over the case yet.
