Nasimi district police office carries out investigation in connection with Igbal Agazadeh

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. Nasimi district police office has started investigation in connection with chairman of Umid (Hope) Party, MP Igbal Agazadeh, inspector Fuad Mehmanov told APA. He said the investigation began after â€œIdealâ€ newspaper appealed to the police office saying that Igbal Agazadeh had attacked the editorial office several times.
â€œAll the materials have already been sent to the investigation. If the appeal is proved, criminal case will be launched on Igbal Agazadeh on article 221.2.2 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code,â€ he said.
The inspector said Igbal Agazadeh was parliamentarian and therefore it was impossible to hold him accountable.
Igbal Agazadeh told APA that it was the duty of the police to investigate and make objective decision.
â€œThey will possibly make objective decision,â€ he said.
Igbal Agazadeh said the newspaperâ€™s appeal was groundless, he had not attacked the editorial office.
â€œI have not been called to the police,â€ he said.
