Court holds preliminary hearing on Ganimat Zahidâ€™s suit against administration of detention place

Baku. Haji Zeynalov-APA. Sabayel district court held the preliminary hearing on the suit brought by editor-in-chief of Azadlig newspaper Ganimat Zahid against the administration of Bayil detention place #1. Judge Famil Nasibov presided over the process. Director of Azadlig newspaper Azer Ahmadov told APA that the court hearing had been scheduled for August 14.
Bayil detention place #1 confiscated Ganimat Zahidâ€™s 300-page manuscripts when he was transferred to jail #17. He appealed to the court to get back his manuscripts.
Ganimat Zahid had faced charges under articles 127 (deliberate causing of less serious harm to the health) and 221 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code and court sentenced him to 4 years in jail.
