Baku. Laura Jabrayilli-APA. “Eclipse of the sun expected to occur on August 1 will be partially observed in Azerbaijan. It will be possible to observe eclipse in Russia, especially in Irkutsk province. On average eclipse of the sun occurs every 30 years,” Eyyub Guliyev, director of Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasiraddin Tusi of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences told APA. He said that Azerbaijan’s scientific expedition will not observe the eclipse of the sun this time.
“Our expedition observed the eclipse of the sun in Antalya, Turkey two years ago. Partial eclipse of the sun occurs twice a year, we do not regard them as a rare natural phenomenon. But total eclipse of the sun is considered serious phenomenon and occur rarely,” he said.
Eyyub Guliyev said total eclipse of the sun is not expected in Azerbaijan and underlined that there is no scientific information that such phenomena have negative influence on people.
