Interpol-searched 31 men arrested in Azerbaijan in first half of this year

Over 15,000 firearms were confiscated from the citizens within this period,â€ Deputy Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov said at the board meeting in Interior Ministry, APA reports. He said that the number of deliberate murders, robberies and other grave crimes reduced by three times, 73,000 wanted people were arrested, over 4 tones of narcotics were removed from the illegal turnover during this period. Deputy Minister said that 10,338 crimes were recorded in the first half of this year in the country. Compared with the reporting period of previous year, the number of deliberate murders, bodily injuries, robberies and fatal road accidents reduced in the past six months. Kidnapping was not recorded during this period. 192 drug-related crimes, 106 crimes related to human trafficking, as well as 9 premeditated murders, 31 robberies, 5 cases of brigandage and 2 cases of plunder were solved during this period. 175 crimes committed in the previous years were solved in the first half of this year.
â€œ138 organized gangs (401 members) that committed grave crimes, as well as 10 gangs (46 members) were rendered harmless as a result of the operations. 1530 wanted men, as well as 64 men hiding in CIS and other foreign countries were arrested, 3 men were arrested for crimes against government. 31 men searched by Interpol were arrested in Azerbaijan, whereabouts of 16 were determined,â€ he said.
