Fuzuli resident accused of killing two close relatives stands trial in Azerbaijan

Baku. Haji Zeynalov-APA. Preliminary court hearing on the case of Fuzuli resident Zaur Haziyev, 38, has been held in the Court of Grave Crimes. Judge Ramella Allahverdiyeva presided over the process. Zaur Haziyev is accused of killing two and wounding five in Beylagan region. APA reports that representative of the victims Sakhavat Shahbuzov petitioned for the defendant’s paying AZN65,000. The petition was granted and the court hearing has been fixed to August 1.
Zaur Haziyev faced charges under articles 120.2.4 (deliberate murder committed with special cruelty or in publicly dangerous way), 120.2.7 (killing two or more persons) and 120.2.9 (killing persons, obviously for guilty in a helpless condition, as well as connected to kidnapping a person or capture of hostage) of the Criminal Code. According to the indictment, Zaur Haziyev, teacher of history, killed his father-in-law Javanshir Zeynalov, brother-in-law Fedai Zeynalov and wounded his sisters-in-law Mehriban Mirzayeva, Nasiba Zeynalova, relatives Gulshan Zeynalova, Aygun Mirzayeva and Khatai Mirzayev on August 15, 2007.
