1255 car accidents killed 375 in the capital of Azerbaijan this year

1255 car accidents were recorded in the republic within six months of this year, Interior Ministry State Traffic Police Department of Baku told the APA.
As a result of these accidents, 375 died, 1344 injured. The number reduced compared with last year. 524 of the accidents were pedestrian knock over (41.8%) and as a result of this 122 died and 444 injured. 91.2 %( 1144) of the accidents happened because of driversâ€™ fault. 40.4% of the accidents are connected with driving at high speed, 25.2% overtake, 9.2% violation of crossroad rules, 2.5% driving being drunk. 29 children and teenagers died, 140 injured in car accidents. 18 of the dead, 87 of the injured are pedestrians. 77 of the dead, 327 of the injured are women. 298 of the dead, 1017 of the injured are men. 42 car accidents resulted with 8 deaths and 36 injured within six months of 2008 have not been disclosed. 36 of these accidents were recorded in the territory of Baku Main Police Department , 4 in Main State Traffic Police Department and 2 in Ganja Police Department .
