Ramil Usubov: â€œNo kidnapping crimes were identified in Azerbaijan in the first half of the yearâ€

Chief of Baku City General Police Office General-Major Rafig Abbasov made a large report on struggling crimes, on public order security, measures taken in other fields of operational service activity and upcoming tasks and duties. Chiefs of the services and territorial police bodies of the Baku City General Police Office reported about the work done and promised to solve all insufficiencies in a short period. Minister Ramil Usubov summed up the meeting and noted that political and military potential of the country and welfare of population significantly increased as a result of sustainable socio-political stability and great successes were achieved in the implementation of state programs contributed to the social progress. Minister said duties related to securing socio-political stability, as an important factor for legal functions of struggling crimes, as well as for economic development and strategic international projects, were implemented successfully and operational condition was kept under control over the first six months of 2008. He directed attention to positive changes in criminal dynamic in compare with the same period of last year and said deliberate murders and attempts of murder reduced by 9.2, deliberate harming by 4.2, extortion by 43.6, carjacking by 38.5, deadly traffic incidents by 11.5 per cent and kidnapping was not identified at all. Usubov noted that the ministry took into consideration the decisive impact of the cityâ€™s operational condition on socio-political and criminal situation in the republic and was regularly analyzing and evaluating the operational condition in Baku City. Interior Minister gave his instructions and recommendations to participants of the meeting and showed ways of solution to insufficiencies and shortcomings.
