After an official dinner, Aliyev invited the Russian president to his house, where the two presidents continued to discuss bilateral relations over a cup of tea.

Earlier on Tuesday, when their official talks were over, Putin and Aliyev visited the Dagestan missile ship of the Caspian flotilla, which is on a friendly visit to Baku. The ship was built at the Zelenodolsk-based Gorky plant. It is 102.2 meter long and 13.1 meter wide. It is Russia’s first warship armed with the universal Kalibr-NK missile system capable of firing several types of high-precision missiles both at surface and coastal targets at a distance up to 300 kilometers.

The Caspian flotilla is a component of Russia’s Southern military district. Based in the city of Astrakhan, it secures Russia’s interests in the Caspian region. It conducts anti-terrorism measures, ensures protection of trade and defends Russia’s interests in the zone of oil fields.

After the visit to the Dagestan ship, Putin and Aliyev inspected an Azerbaijani ship.

Later on, the Azeri president showed his Russian counterpart about Baku. At first, the two leaders ascended a hill with a viewing point on its top commanding a spectacular view of the city and the sea. Then, the two leaders made a sightseeing tour of Baku’s old town, where they spoke with local dwellers and had traditional Azeri bread at a local cafe.
