The event was attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Safardurdu Toyliyev (as an observer).
Representative of TURKKON Elders Council from Azerbaijan MP Fettah Heydarov, Secretary General of TURKPA Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov also took part in the event.
Chairmanship was handed over from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan. Chairmanship of Kyrgyz President was given to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The presidents spoke about different projects implemented in their countries, as well as strengthening of regional cooperation.
Secretary General of TURKKON Halil Akinci made a speech about the work done during the past period.
Gabala Declaration was adopted at the end of the summit.

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. The 3rd summit of the Cooperation Council of the Turkic-Speaking States has kicked off in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
APA reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev are attending the meeting.
Azerbaijan has taken over chairmanship of the council from Kyrgyzstan. President of Kyrgyzstan has handed over chairmanship to Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.
Gabala Declaration will be adopted at the end of the summit.
