Elmar Mammadyarov: â€œThe European Union must comply with the commitment to support the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan"

APA reports quoting Foreign Ministry’s press service that Elmar Mammadyarov spoke about Azerbaijan’s activities within the Eastern Partnership and cooperation dialogue with the EU. He said it is important for the EU to comply with the commitment to support the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan reflected in the European Neighbourhood Policy Action Programme adopted in 2006.

Minister said the decisions passed on the Southern Gas Corridor will play an important role in strengthening EU’s energy security and creating further opportunities in the political and economic relations with the EU. According to Elmar Mammadyarov, the negotiations with the EU on visa facilitation and readmission agreements are about to end. He underlined the importance of signing them by Vilnius Summit.
