Surely, no state can alone solve the complicated problems demanding collective involvement and quick steps,” said Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov addressing the foreign ministers’ meeting as a part of the 3rd summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) in Gabala, APA reports.

The minister noted that Azerbaijan considers joint efforts important for timely and effective response to these challenges: “Our organization has unique opportunities in this regard. Our main goal is to effectively use these opportunities for the sake of development of our people’s socio-economic welfare. Without playing down the importance of cooperation in various fields, we consider that much attention should be paid to the enhancement of economic relations, especially increase of mutual trade and investment flows among the member states, establishment of joint facilities and implementation of joint projects.

Elmar Mammadyarov also said that during its chairmanship, Azerbaijan will attach special importance to further development of economic cooperation among the member states. It is important to prepare economic agenda of our organization. It should cover priority spheres of cooperation through determination of concrete goals and terms. It is of great importance to organize the meetings of chiefs of economic, transport and customs bodies, including meetings of the relevant working groups.

Foreign Minister said fulfillment of the decisions within certain time and ratification of the documents are still the major goals towards improvement of cooperation within the framework of the organization.

“As a part of our efforts aiming to promote cooperation for strengthening regional coordination, we have put forward a resolution entitled “Improving cooperation for better connectivity and telecommunication transit routes” within the framework of the current session of the UN General Assembly. This draft document is the continuation of resolution 67/194 on Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway and envisages establishment of Eurasia Connectivity Union as a platform to facilitate regional and international cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies. We highly appreciate the support of the Turkic-speaking countries for TASIM project and express our confidence that our joint cooperation will be continued towards establishment of Eurasia Connectivity Union,” he said.

Foreign Minister said they expect new proposals from the Secretariat regarding preparation and implementation of the development strategy of the Cooperation Council of the Turkic-Speaking States.

“I underline the activity of TurkPA, Turksoy, Turkic Academy, believe that Turkic Cultural Heritage Foundation will soon start functioning,” he said.
