She said that Grigoriu had appealed to the agency about the threats and urged the Azerbaijani community and media not to be indifferent to this event: “Other politicians may also be in the same situation tomorrow. The reason of it is protection of the rights of Azerbaijan. This is a very serious case.”

Political scientist Mubariz Ahmedoglu said that none of the statements made by Aurelia Grigoriu in Yerevan is false: “The presidents of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan confirmed these facts. They also gave an explanation of this tragedy. The fact of the occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories is also known all over the world. Why should the person telling the truth face pressure?”

Ahmedoglu added that at present Moldova-Azerbaijan relations are facing hardship: “If Moldova humiliates the relations with Azerbaijan contrary to Armenia, we must not keep silence. Like our Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Moldova has also Transnistria conflict, so we are in the same situation. But Armenia is on the side of aggressors. Following the resonance emerged after Grigoriu’s speech at the Armenian parliament, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian visited Moldova, nothing was said about it. If Armenian had something to say, why didn’t they say anything? I call on the Azerbaijani communities in Moldova and Ukraine to study the situation, if necessary to appeal to Baku for help.”
