Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. “We hope that the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group will strengthen their activities for the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and demonstrate more decisive and expedient approach in this regard,” said spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev while commenting on the appointment of James Warlick as US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, APA reports.
Adbullayev said that each of the co-chairing countries has its own approach to the solution of the conflict and it remains unchanged regardless of the diplomat working as a co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group: “Every diplomat fulfils its country’s mission. Of course, professionalism and human factors are very important.”
The spokesman noted that Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unsolved due to Armenia's unconstructive position and Azerbaijan is concerned over the lack of adequate response to it by the international community.
On August 5, US Secretary of State John Kerry announced that James Warlick was appointed as OSCE Minsk Group co-chair. Earlier, Ian Kelly had been the US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group on an interim basis.
