Baku – APA. Head of the Azerbaijani Mission to the EU Fuad Isgandarov and Director General for Home Affairs at the European Commission Stefano Manservisi have initialed the draft agreements on visa facilitation and readmission between the Republic of Azerbaijan and European Union. Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that following the initialization, these draft agreements are expected to be signed within Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius in November.

Visa facilitation agreement opens up great opportunities for the Azerbaijani citizens to travel to Europe on simplified terms. According to the agreement, in particular, scientists, students who travel to get education, people who need to travel to the European countries to get treatment, to attend sports, cultural and humanitarian events will be able to obtain visas on simplified terms.

Another advantage of the visa facilitation agreement is substantial reduction of the number of documents required to obtain a visa, two-fold reduction of the mutual visa fees and access to long-term and multiple-entry visas. Furthermore, our citizens who will travel to Europe to visit family members living abroad will be able to enjoy the advantages of this agreement.
