Baku. Ankhanum Hidayatova – APA. “Deepening relations with Azerbaijan is a priority for us,” Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Teymuraz Sharashenidze said at the press conference, APA reports.

The Ambassador said that frequent mutual visits prove the importance of Azerbaijan for Georgia: “Almost all the members of the Georgian government, including Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanisvili have already visited Azerbaijan. Common challenges such as territorial integrity and economic development of the region are important for both governments.”

Teymuraz Sharashenidze noted that selection of TAP project to transport Caspian gas to Europe will lead to $ 2bn investment in Georgia's economy and creation of new jobs: “Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project also plays an important role in the development of economic cooperation. Azerbaijani businessmen have already invested $ 210m in Georgia's economy. As a result of it, thousands of new jobs have been created.”
