Ahmet Davutoglu: â€œThe attitude of the West to the ongoing developments in Egypt will be interesting for usâ€

Elvin Yagubov – APA. “The killing of hundreds of people and wounding of thousands of people in the ongoing developments in Egypt don’t serve the democracy,” said Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu addressing at the foreign ministers’ meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) in Gabala.

He stressed the importance of joint efforts of the international community in order to avoid expansion of the scale of the processes in Egypt: “The attitude and position of the West to the ongoing developments will be interesting for us. Egypt is a friendly and fraternal country for Turkey. We are very worried about what is happening in this country. We held meetings with the opposition in this regard. Our main goal is to turn Egypt into a normal country. We are confident that the negotiations and recommendations will produce results.”
