Azerbaijan's FM discussed regional security issues with new Ambassador of Ukraine

On May 21, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev, MFA told APA.

The current cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as regional security issues, were discussed at the meeting.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev on his appointment and wished him success in his work.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of a strategic partnership between the two countries in the direction of economy, trade, energy security, transport and communications, humanitarian, etc.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ceyhun Bayramov, providing information on the preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) which is chaired by Azerbaijan, stated that by including the issue of combating climate change in the cooperation agenda of COP29, it can contribute to the development of relations.

Ambassador Yuriy Husyev thanked for the warm reception and pointed out that he will spare no effort in the further development of relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Gratitude was expressed for the constant support provided by Azerbaijan to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as for the humanitarian aid provided in connection with the situation around Ukraine.

During the meeting, opinions were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
