Baku. Musa Ahmadov – APA-Economics. Today, Azerbaijan and the World Bank have signed three new loan agreements with the total amount of $300 mln for modernization of justice services, improvement of infrastructure services for rural communities and reconstruction of water-sewerage systems in the regions, WB Baku office told APA-Economics.
The Agreement Loan on Progressive Justice Services and Modern Court Infrastructure Project was signed by Azerbaijani Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov and the bank’s Country Manager for Azerbaijan Larisa Leshchenko.
The loan on the project makes $100 mln. The project aims to continue moderncation process of the justice sector in Azerbaijan through strengthening justice and provision of transparency in rendering these services.
The second loan agreement on Extra Financing for Second Project on national water supply and sewerage service between Azerbaijan and WB, and project agreement on Extra Financing for Second Project on national water supply and sewerage service between Melioration and Water Supply OJSC and WB were signed by Finance Minister Samir Sharifov, Chairman of Melioration and Water Supply OJSC Ahmad Ahmadzadeh and Larisa Leshchenko.
The amount of this extra financing makes $150 mln and it aims to supply families in with water and sewerage services in Siyazan, Shabran, Aghsu, Ismayilli, Masalli and Jalilabad.
The second loan agreement on Extra Financing for the Second Rural Investments Project was signed by Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov and Larisa Leshchenko.
Amount of this loan is $50.
WB investment portfolio in Azerbaijan consists of 18 projects. Azerbaijan’s liabilities for 54 projects make $3.8 bln.
