The International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs Procedures (Kyoto Convention) does not meet today’s demands, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Customs Committee (SCC) Sefer Mehdiyev said on May 4.
According to him, the State Customs Committee is one of the World Customs Committee and Kyoto Convention should be revised: ‘Kyoto Convention has been adopted for more than ten years and does not meet today’s demands.. We think that the State Customs Committee always supports innovations. Innovations in the trade necessitate reforms in Azerbaijan’s customs services. This is unavoidable. We think that we will cooperate with both customs authorities and other state bodies at high level. Such programs will be applied in Azerbaijan’s customs services’.
