The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has announced its inflation expectations for the medium term, APA-Economics reports.
The CBA’s decision on the parameters of the interest rate corridor noted that annual inflation is within the target range and is moving in line with the forecast trajectory under the baseline scenario.
According to the Central Bank, 12-month inflation stood at 5.7% in August 2026. This figure is 0.1 percentage points lower than in July.
In August, annual price growth was 7.2% for food products, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, 5% for paid services, and 3.7% for non-food products.
The CBA noted that annual core inflation stood at 5.1%.
The Central Bank has kept unchanged its forecast that annual inflation will remain within the target range over the medium term.
At the same time, the CBA stated that risks related to global geopolitical uncertainty, rising energy and food prices, as well as the pass-through of external price increases to the domestic market, continue to persist.
