Positive balance of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover makes $ 6 bln in first half-year

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. EU Generalized System of Preferences+ Program (GSP+) will have positive impact on the trade turnover of Azerbaijan in the future, Economic Development Ministry Apparatus head Samir Valiyev told APA.
According to him, the quantity and quality of Azerbaijan’s trade turnover increased. The total volume of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover made $ 10.6 bln. Of this, $8.2 bln came from export, $2.4 bln from import. At the result, the positive balance of foreign trade turnover made $ 6 bln. Export of non-oil production doubled compared with a year ago.
He also noted that, the 40% of foreign trade turnover came from EU. Azerbaijan is the greatest partner of EU in Caucasus region. I consider that, GSP+ will have positive impact on the trade turnover of Azerbaijan in the future. We intend to increase the export of non-oil productions, he added.
Note that, the main purpose of GSP+ is to support the development of non-oil sector and increase the export potential in Azerbaijan.
