We can also buy Tomahawk missiles from European countries, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his speech at the meeting of the Council of the European Union, APA reports.
"Long-range weapons are available not only in the United States, but also in some European countries. In particular, they also have weapons such as Tomahawk missiles, and we are already negotiating with countries that can help us," Zelensky stressed.
According to the Ukrainian President, such weapons have the power to change the course of the war. He called on European Union countries to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Zelensky noted that strong pressure from the international community should bring Russian President Vladimir Putin back to reality.
"When we talk about strengthening sanctions, this is not only about Ukraine's defense. Sanctions weaken Russia's military machine, but also affect the oligarchs and corporations around Putin. They must understand that Putin and his war are a threat to their lives, money and future," the Ukrainian leader added.
Zelensky called on European countries to impose new sanctions on Russia, seize frozen Russian assets, and send new air defense systems to Ukraine.
“We must act together - quickly, decisively, and without delay,” Zelensky concluded his speech with these words.
