Türkiye is ready to host a meeting between the U.S. and Russian leaders, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in an interview with journalists during his visit to Gulf countries, APA reports.
According to him, Türkiye is offering its own platform for holding a Russia–U.S. summit.
“The importance of Türkiye’s or Istanbul’s peace vision has once again become evident in the peace process. We are ready to host such a meeting at any time. I wish the meeting had been held in Budapest. We believe that any dialogue will contribute to ending this war. From the very beginning, we have supported this idea, worked for it, and declared the possibility of a just peace. We have good relations with both sides and have gained the trust of both,” Erdoğan said while commenting on the postponed meeting between the Russian and U.S. leaders in Budapest and the possibility of holding such a meeting in Türkiye.
