A meeting has been held at the White House between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, APA reports, citing CNN.

President Donald Trump said during the meeting at the White House that he does not plan to provide Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles.

According to the report, the conversation was tense and straightforward. Trump made it clear to Zelensky that Ukraine would not receive long-range missiles at this stage.

Trump reportedly formed the impression that Ukraine was inclined to prolong and escalate the conflict, expressing concern over possible losses in the upcoming winter.

After the meeting, US President Donald Trump emphasized the importance of ensuring a ceasefire along the front line and called for an “end to the deaths.” He justified his position by “the current realities of the conflict,” stressing that the destruction and human losses had already reached a very high level.

Following the closed-door meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the sides had discussed arms supplies, including the issue of providing long-range missiles. He also mentioned that they touched upon Trump’s planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest.
