Russia carried out a large-scale drone assault on Ukraine overnight, launching a total of 130 drones, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Air Force, APA reports.
Officials reported that around 80 of the drones were Iranian-made “Shahed” models, which Russia has frequently used in previous attacks. Ukrainian defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 92 drones during the assault.
The operation to repel the attack involved aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems divisions, and mobile fire groups, the statement added.
Despite Ukraine’s defensive efforts, 25 of the drones managed to strike 11 targets across the country.
