The number of people injured in the attack by Russian drones on a kindergarten and nearby residential buildings in the Kholodnogorsk district of Kharkiv has risen to 9, APA reports.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that fires broke out in three different places, the largest of which was recorded in the kindergarten building.
The report says that 48 children in the kindergarten were in a shelter at the time of the Russian attack, and they were promptly evacuated by rescuers, police officers and volunteers.
The Emergency Service reports that all fires have already been extinguished.

One person was killed and seven others were injured as a result of Russia’s attack on a kindergarten in Kharkiv last night, APA reports.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on his X account.
According to him, all the children were evacuated and are currently in shelters.
“There can be no excuse for organizing a drone attack on a kindergarten,” Zelensky emphasized.

In Kharkiv, the Russian army carried out an attack on a private kindergarten in the Kholodnyi District, APA reports, citing Ukrainian media.
As a result of the attack, children were injured. On October 22, three explosions occurred, the first at 10:52. The Air Forces warned of approaching attack drones. All the children from the kindergarten were evacuated, said Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv.
At the scene, efforts to eliminate the aftermath continue: a fire and destruction. According to Oleh Synyehubov, head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, four people were injured as a result of the attack, two of whom are in serious condition. One of the wounded is unconscious and is in intensive care, Terekhov added.
According to the situation as of 11:31, two more injured were reported: a man and a woman, who were hospitalized. The woman is in a serious condition with burns.
The number of those injured has risen to six. At 11:40, the death of a 40-year-old man was reported. According to the head of the oblast administration, medical assistance is being provided to five people, and investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
