The US decision to tighten sanctions against Russia was a turning point. The restrictions should affect Moscow's ability to finance the war against Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron says, APA reports.
During his speech at the summit of the Coalition of the Willing, Macron emphasized that the coalition member countries must continue to support Ukraine's energy stability and increase pressure on Russia.
"The American sanctions are clearly a turning point. The efficiency of the sanctions should clearly impact the financing of the war for Russia," the President said.
According to him, the coalition has made significant progress in the fight against Russia's shadow fleet. Macron stressed that this is "a perfect complement" to the sanctions.
