Lithuania to open border with Belarus from tomorrow

The Lithuanian government has decided to reopen two border crossings with Belarus that have been temporarily closed since the end of October, APA reports, citing Lithuanian media.

We are talking about the Medyninkai (opposite Kamenny Log) and Shalininkai (opposite Benakony) border crossings. Both points will resume their operations tomorrow, November 20.

Lithuanian Interior Minister Vladislav Kondratovich said at a government meeting that the decisions taken by the National Security Commission indicate that the current situation has changed.

“It has been determined that the border crossing restrictions introduced on October 29, 2025 are no longer necessary to ensure internal security. Therefore, it is appropriate to cancel these restrictions,” the Minister of Interior said.

Earlier, Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginenė announced that the National Security Commission recommended the opening of these two border crossings. According to her, preparing the border for operation will take one day.
