Georgian PM discussed importance of Middle Corridor with UN official

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, APA's local bureau reports, citing the Georgian government's press service.

The meeting discussed prospects for deepening fruitful cooperation and partnership between Georgia and ESCAP.

The parties paid special attention to Georgia's strategic position and transit potential. The importance of the Central Corridor in terms of opening new trade and investment opportunities and Georgia's important role within this project were emphasized.

During the conversation, major infrastructure projects implemented in Georgia aimed at increasing the country's logistics capabilities and transit potential were also touched upon.
