About 20 participants of the rally who directly participated in the attempt to illegally block the road have been administratively detained, said Ministry of Internal Affairs, APA reports quoting Interpress News.
As for the young woman who got into the police car, she has been detained under Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to hooliganism.
“Today, from approximately 8:00 p.m., several participants of the rally gathered on Rustaveli Avenue illegally attempted to block the road.
Despite the fact that the patrol police representatives repeatedly warned the protesters not to commit an illegal act, as their number did not give them the legal right to block the roadway, the participants of the rally did not heed the call of law enforcement officers.
Accordingly, about 20 participants of the rally who directly participated in the attempt to illegally block the road have been administratively detained.
