Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani met with his Armenian counterpart Suren Papikyan in Yerevan to discuss regional security issues, APA's local bureau reports, citing the Georgian Defense Ministry.
Chikovani confirmed the Georgian side's readiness to contribute to the development of regional cooperation. He stressed the historical significance of the joint declaration signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington and said that the agreement will make a significant contribution to strengthening long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
Note that I. Chikovani is on an official visit to Armenia. He will also meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as part of the visit.
